(following up on the last message) and having almost no superhero focus. As soon as we've finished reading this vignette saying about the rediscovery of the pure joy of just experiencing owls (but really superheroes and their larger than life stories) the book completely shifts into such a plotty, action-packed final act. Also it's worth mentioning that up until this point in the most part the heroes are seen as fairly ordinary and demystified, but going forward they are much more "super" :)

Hey guys, I'm really enjoying your series, but I think you missed the subtext I got from the essay by "Dan" about owls. The first time I read it I was the same as you - I found it so dull, and wasn't too sure about the meaning. I just finished rereading the novel, and I think it is Moore speaking directly to us about his dissection of superheroes in this novel. It's no coincidence that this happens at the end of 7 chapters that spend most of their time exploring the psychology of heroes
